Mona Singh got emotional and spoke to those who boycotted ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’: ‘Aamir Khan does not deserve this’

After Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, actress Mona Singh has broken her silence on the controversy surrounding her film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. The film was heavily criticized by social media users who kept demanding a boycott of the film. Speaking on this, Mona questioned the intention of those who are against Aamir Khan’s film.

‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ was released on Thursday, August 11. A few weeks before the release of the film, the hashtag ‘Boycott Lal Singh Chaddha’ started trending on Twitter. Many users said they would not watch the film because they are angry with Aamir Khan’s previous statements about the country.

When asked about the boycott trend, Mona told India Today, “I was very sad. I mean what did Aamir Khan do that he is being treated like this? He is someone who has always entertained us for the last 30 years. But I am sure that the boycotters will see this film one day and will find it associated with every Indian.

Naga Chaitanya made his Bollywood debut with ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ is the official Hindi remake of the 1994 Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’, starring Tom Hanks in the lead role. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film stars Kareena Kapoor as Aamir’s childhood friend. Mona Singh played the role of his mother. Naga Chaitanya also made his Bollywood debut with the film.

Despite the boycott trend, many celebrities praised the film on social media. Talking about the criticism of the film, Aamir said during an interaction with the media, ‘If I have hurt anyone in any way, then I am sorry. I don’t want to hurt anybody. If someone doesn’t want to watch the film, I will respect their sentiments.

Aamir Khan had made a special appeal to the people, the actor had requested people to watch the film. He said, ‘However, I would like people to go to see the film, because it is made with a lot of love. A lot of people have worked hard in this film and I hope people will like it.
